Rafael Nadal has cast uncertainty over his participation in the upcoming French Open, citing ongoing struggles with injury recovery. The 22-time Grand Slam champion expressed doubts about his readiness for the prestigious tournament, pointing out that he is far from his optimal condition.

"If I was in Paris today, I wouldn't go out to play," Nadal, 37, said. "I don't think I'll be able to play at 100%, but it's important to be able to play for the last time in Madrid. It means a lot to me to play on this court where I've had some great moments."

Nadal's injury woes have been a recurring theme throughout his illustrious career, and this year has been no exception, with the Spaniard playing just five competitive matches so far. With the French Open looming, Nadal faces a race against time to attain peak fitness for the tournament, where he has clinched the title a staggering 14 times.

Nadal stated he is giving himself "a chance" and hopes to "find better feelings" in his body going forward.
